Environmentalists are extremely concerned that Prozac is being taken in such large quantities in Britain, that it can now be found in the drinking water. They are urging an investigation into the disclosure, and interpreting the build-up of the antidepressant as 'hidden mass medication'. The Environment Agency has disclosed that Prozac is building up both in groundwater used for drinking supplies and Britain's river systems. Experts say that Prozac makes its way into water systems via treated sewage water.
